garrottes
Kills by strangling
Garrottes is the third-person singular verb form of garrotte, meaning to strangle someone with a cord, wire, or similar ligature tightened around the throat.
The method has been used both for execution and assassination.
A garrotte is also the device itself—typically a length of wire with handles at each end.
The assassin garrottes his victim from behind.
Also spelled garrotes.
