game disc
Console media circle
A game disc is an optical disc containing video game software, inserted into a console or computer to play.
The format dominated gaming from the mid-1990s through the 2010s, with PlayStation, Xbox, and PC games distributed on CDs, DVDs, or Blu-rays.
Digital downloads have largely replaced physical media, though collectors and those with slow internet still prefer discs: I found the original game disc in a box in my closet.
