Knee-length formal jacket
A frockcoat is a man's formal coat with a fitted waist and skirts extending to the knees, worn in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
It was standard dress for businessmen and professionals: He arrived in a black frockcoat and top hat.
The garment has largely disappeared except in period costume and some formal ceremonies.
