fourpence
Old English denomination
Fourpence is a British sum equal to four pennies, or the coin representing that amount.
The coin circulated until decimalization in 1971.
The word survives mainly in historical contexts and the nursery rhyme "Sing a Song of Sixpence": Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie.
