flat lay
Styled birds-eye shot
A flat lay is a photograph taken from directly above, showing objects arranged on a flat surface.
The style dominates social media, especially for showcasing products, outfits, or aesthetically curated collections: She spent twenty minutes arranging the perfect flat lay of her morning coffee and journal.
The term works as both noun and verb: I need to flat lay these products for the brand shoot.
