fishbait
Hook's tempting morsel
Fishbait is any substance used to lure fish onto a hook—worms, minnows, dough balls, or artificial lures.
The term also appears as an insult suggesting someone is worthless or doomed: Keep talking and you'll be fishbait.
Spelled as one word or two (fish bait).
