finials
Ornamental post tops
Finials are decorative ornaments at the top or end of something—a lamp, bedpost, flagpole, or architectural spire.
They cap off vertical elements with a flourish: The brass finials on the curtain rod matched the drawer pulls.
Common shapes include balls, flames, acorns, and pinecones.
The singular is finial.
