Compressed wood sheets
Fiberboards are building materials made from wood fibers compressed into rigid sheets.
Denser and more uniform than natural wood, they're used for furniture backing, subflooring, and construction sheathing.
Common types include medium-density fiberboard (MDF) and hardboard.
The shelves were made of cheap fiberboard that warped in the humidity.
