Felt pads are small pieces of dense, matted fabric attached to the bottom of furniture legs or other objects to prevent scratching floors and reduce noise when items are moved.
They come in various shapes and sizes, typically with adhesive backing: I put felt pads under the chair legs to protect the hardwood.
The material—pressed wool or synthetic fibers—slides easily while cushioning contact.
