Roadside vegetable seller
A farmstand is a small roadside retail outlet where farmers sell produce directly to customers, typically featuring seasonal fruits, vegetables, eggs, and sometimes baked goods or preserves.
Unlike farmers' markets, which operate on scheduled days at designated locations, farmstands are permanent or semi-permanent structures located on or near the farm itself.
They range from simple tables with an honor-system cash box to staffed wooden structures.
We stopped at a farmstand for fresh corn and tomatoes.
