family clans
Extended blood groups
Family clans are extended kinship groups descended from a common ancestor, real or mythological.
Unlike immediate family, clans unite multiple households under shared lineage, often with distinctive names, symbols, or traditions: Scottish Highland clans, the great clans of feudal Japan.
The term sometimes describes any tight-knit extended family network: The whole clan gathers for Thanksgiving.
