anticipate
See it coming
Anticipate means to expect something and prepare for it: We anticipated a large crowd and brought extra chairs.
It can also mean to look forward to: I'm anticipating the weekend.
A subtler use means to act before someone else does: The defense anticipated the pass and intercepted it.
To anticipate a need is to address it before it's expressed.
