excluders
Things that bar
Excluders are devices or mechanisms designed to keep something out while allowing other things through.
A bee excluder prevents the queen from entering certain parts of a hive while worker bees pass freely.
Door excluders block drafts from gaps beneath doors.
The term also applies to people or policies that systematically keep others out: The new rules function as excluders of lower-income applicants.
