evacuation zone
Cleared hazard area
An evacuation zone is a designated area that authorities order people to leave during an emergency—hurricanes, wildfires, chemical spills, or other disasters.
Zones are typically numbered or lettered by risk level, with mandatory evacuation for the most threatened areas: Zone A residents must leave immediately.
The term also applies to areas cleared during bomb threats or military operations.
