sand tray
Miniature desert container
A sand tray is a shallow box filled with sand, used in therapeutic settings to allow clients—especially children—to create scenes with miniature figures, revealing emotional states or conflicts through symbolic play.
The technique appears in play therapy and Jungian analysis.
Sand trays also refer to simple sandbox toys for sensory play.
