cancel button
Stops current action
A cancel button is a user interface element that stops or abandons an action in progress.
Clicking it typically closes a dialog box without saving changes or halts an operation before completion: I hit the cancel button before the file finished downloading.
The term extends metaphorically to any means of backing out: I wish life had a cancel button.
