editorial writing
Newspaper stance pieces
Editorial writing is opinion journalism that presents a publication's official stance on issues of public concern.
Unlike news reporting, which aims for objectivity, editorial writing deliberately advocates positions, makes arguments, and attempts to persuade readers.
Newspapers traditionally run unsigned editorials representing the institutional voice of the publication, while signed opinion pieces are called columns or op-eds.
The editorial writing in that paper has taken a sharp turn to the right since the new owner took over.
