earcup
Soft speaker housing
An earcup is the padded portion of a headphone or headset that covers or rests against the ear.
Earcups contain the speaker driver and provide cushioning and sound isolation: The leather earcups were more comfortable than the foam ones.
Over-ear earcups enclose the entire ear; on-ear earcups rest directly on it.
