duology
Paired narrative works
A duology is a pair of creative works—novels, films, or albums—conceived as a two-part whole.
Unlike a trilogy's three installments, a duology completes its narrative arc in two: The sequel wrapped up the duology nicely.
The term is less established than trilogy, sometimes replaced by "two-parter" or "diptych."
