dragonglass
Black volcanic rock
Dragonglass is the name given to obsidian in George R.R.
Martin's *A Song of Ice and Fire* novels and the television series *Game of Thrones*.
In that fictional world, dragonglass is one of the few substances capable of killing White Walkers and wights: We need to mine the dragonglass before the army of the dead arrives.
The term has crossed into general fantasy vocabulary.
