double-tapping
Two quick presses
Double-tapping is tapping something twice in quick succession.
On touchscreens, a double-tap typically zooms in or activates a function—the touch equivalent of a double-click.
In military and firearms contexts, double-tapping means firing two shots rapidly at a target, or shooting someone already down to ensure they're dead: The soldier double-tapped the fallen combatant.
On social media platforms like Instagram, double-tapping a post "likes" it.
