tapped

Touched and chose

Tapped is the past tense of tap, covering all its senses: struck lightly He tapped me on the shoulder, accessed a resource They tapped the maple trees for syrup, or selected for a role She was tapped to lead the committee.

In slang, tapped or tapped out means exhausted or depleted: I'm tapped—can't lend you anything.

To get tapped can mean to be wiretapped or, vulgarly, to have sex.
