dotard

Feeble old person

A dotard is a person in mental decline due to old age—someone whose faculties have weakened, who has become foolish or senile.

The word is old-fashioned and literary, carrying a tone of contempt: The king had become a dotard, easily manipulated by his advisors.

It briefly surged in modern usage after appearing in international political rhetoric.
