dullard
Not terribly bright
A dullard is a slow-witted or stupid person.
The word carries a tone of dismissive contempt rather than clinical assessment—you might call someone a dullard when frustrated by their inability to grasp something obvious: Any dullard could see through that excuse.
The term is somewhat old-fashioned, more likely found in books than conversation.
