doglegs

Fairway bent paths

Doglegs are sharp bends or angles in a path, road, or structure—named for resembling the angular shape of a dog's hind leg.

In golf, a dogleg is a hole where the fairway turns sharply left or right: The seventh is a dogleg right around the trees.

Stairs may have doglegs where they change direction at a landing.

The verb means to bend at such an angle: The trail doglegs around the cliff face.
