Elevation to godhood
Divinization is the process of becoming divine or being made godlike.
In Christian theology, particularly Eastern Orthodox tradition, it refers to humanity's potential union with God—not becoming God in essence, but participating in divine nature through grace.
The term also applies more broadly to the elevation of a person or thing to divine status: the divinization of emperors in ancient Rome.
