dispositional

Related to temperament

Dispositional describes qualities that are inherent tendencies rather than responses to circumstances.

A dispositional optimist sees the bright side by nature, not because things happen to be going well.

The term appears most often in psychology and philosophy, contrasting with situational: dispositional factors come from within a person, situational factors come from the environment.
