disenthrall
Release from bondage
To disenthrall is to free from bondage or controlling influence.
The word is literary and somewhat old-fashioned, carrying more weight than simply "free" or "liberate." Lincoln used it memorably: We must disenthrall ourselves from the past.
The spelling disenthral also appears.
Someone disenthralled has broken free from whatever held their mind or body captive.
