cruise speed
Sustained flight rate
Cruise speed is the velocity at which a vehicle—typically an aircraft—travels most efficiently during the main portion of a journey, after climbing and before descending.
It balances fuel economy with reasonable travel time: The plane reached cruise speed at 35,000 feet.
Cars and boats also have cruise speeds, though the term is most associated with aviation.
