cropdusters

Low-flying sprayers

Cropdusters are aircraft used to spray pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers over agricultural fields.

The planes fly low, releasing chemicals in a fine mist across crops.

By extension, cropduster can describe the pilot who operates such a plane.

In crude slang, cropdusting means passing gas while walking through a space, leaving others to encounter the smell: He cropdusted the whole office on his way out.
