creminis
Immature portobello fungi
Creminis are brown-capped mushrooms, a variety of the common cultivated mushroom sold at a younger stage than portobellos.
They have a firmer texture and earthier flavor than white button mushrooms: Sauté the creminis in butter until golden.
Also spelled cremini in the singular.
Sometimes called baby bellas.
