plausibility
Appearance of truth
Plausibility is the quality of seeming reasonable or believable.
An argument has plausibility when it could be true, even if unproven: The theory has some plausibility, but we need more evidence.
Plausibility concerns surface credibility—whether something passes initial scrutiny—not whether it's actually correct.
