crab sticks
Fake shellfish fingers
Crab sticks are processed seafood products made from surimi—a paste of minced white fish—that has been flavored, colored, and shaped to resemble crab leg meat.
Despite the name, they contain little or no actual crab.
They're a common ingredient in sushi rolls, seafood salads, and budget-friendly dishes where real crab would be too expensive.
I used crab sticks in the California rolls since fresh crab was out of season.
