Krab is imitation crab meat, a processed seafood product made from white fish (usually pollock) that has been pulverized, shaped, and flavored to resemble crab.
The deliberate misspelling signals to consumers that the product isn't genuine crabmeat.
It appears in sushi rolls, seafood salads, and crab cakes where authentic crab would be too expensive.
The California roll is made with krab, avocado, and cucumber.
