court vision
Seeing open teammates
Court vision is the ability to see and anticipate what's happening across the playing surface, especially in basketball.
A player with good court vision knows where teammates and defenders are without looking directly at them, enabling precise passes and smart decisions: His court vision makes him an elite point guard.
The term occasionally extends to other sports played on courts.
