court filing
Document for judges
A court filing is a document officially submitted to a court as part of legal proceedings.
Filings include complaints, motions, briefs, and responses—any paperwork that becomes part of the case record.
The act of submitting such documents is also called filing: The court filing revealed new evidence in the case.
Many court filings are now submitted electronically.
