Edge bracket element
A cornerpiece is an element designed to occupy or protect a corner.
In furniture and framing, cornerpieces reinforce or decorate the angles where edges meet: ornate brass cornerpieces on an antique chest.
In puzzles, the cornerpieces are the four pieces with two straight edges.
The term also applies to architectural elements at building corners.
