contestability
Able to be disputed
Contestability is the quality of being open to challenge or dispute.
In economics, market contestability measures how easily new competitors can enter and exit an industry—a highly contestable market keeps prices competitive even with few players.
In insurance, a contestability period (typically two years) allows insurers to investigate and potentially void policies for misrepresentation.
More broadly, contestability applies to any claim, decision, or outcome that can be questioned: The contestability of the election results remained a point of contention.
