refutable

Open to disproof

Refutable describes something that can be disproven or shown to be false.

A refutable claim is one open to challenge by evidence or argument: His theory was easily refutable once the data came in.

The word often appears in scientific and philosophical contexts, where refutability—the possibility of being proven wrong—is considered a virtue of good hypotheses rather than a weakness.
