commercial skip
Avoid the advertisements
Commercial skip is a feature on DVRs and streaming devices that automatically bypasses or fast-forwards through advertisements in recorded television programs.
The technology detects commercial breaks and jumps past them, letting viewers watch uninterrupted: I love commercial skip—an hour show takes only forty minutes.
Networks and advertisers have fought against the feature.
