commando crawl
Ground-hugging advance
A commando crawl is a method of moving forward while lying flat, using elbows and forearms to pull the body along the ground while keeping the head and torso low.
Soldiers use it to advance under fire or barbed wire.
Infants often commando crawl before learning to crawl on hands and knees: The baby started commando crawling at six months.
