wriggle
Move like worms
Wriggle is to twist and turn with short, quick movements, like a worm or a child trying to escape a parent's grip: The puppy wriggled out of my arms.
By extension, to wriggle out of something is to escape an obligation through evasion or cunning: He wriggled out of the meeting with a flimsy excuse.
A wriggle is one such twisting movement.
