colour wheel

Artist's chromatic diagram

A colour wheel is a circular diagram showing the relationships between colours, arranged so that complementary colours appear opposite each other and related hues appear adjacent.

Artists and designers use it to choose harmonious colour combinations: She consulted the colour wheel before picking her palette.

The standard wheel includes primary, secondary, and tertiary colours.
