clunkers

Cars past prime

Clunkers is the plural of clunker—an old, worn-out, or poorly functioning machine, especially a car: He drove that clunker until the transmission finally gave out.

By extension, clunker applies to anything that fails or performs badly: a joke that lands with a thud, a movie that flops, an awkward sentence in otherwise good prose.
