clubroot

Swollen brassica disease

Clubroot is a disease of cabbage, broccoli, and other plants in the mustard family, caused by a soil-borne organism that attacks the roots.

Infected plants develop swollen, distorted roots that resemble clubs or spindles, leading to stunted growth and wilting.

The disease persists in contaminated soil for years.
