clickwrap

Online terms acceptance

Clickwrap is a type of agreement where users accept terms by clicking a button or checking a box, typically labeled "I agree" or "Accept." Common when installing software, creating accounts, or making online purchases: Nobody reads the clickwrap before clicking accept.

The term derives from shrinkwrap agreements, where opening physical packaging constituted acceptance.

Also called click-through or clickthrough agreement.
