chiplet
Small silicon die
A chiplet is a small, specialized integrated circuit designed to be combined with other chiplets into a single package.
Rather than manufacturing one large processor with all functions, chipmakers produce smaller dies that handle specific tasks—processing, memory, input/output—and connect them together.
This modular approach improves manufacturing yields and allows mixing components made with different technologies: The new GPU uses chiplets connected by a high-speed fabric.
