chestpiece

Doctor's audio sensor

A chestpiece is the part of a stethoscope that presses against the body to detect sounds—heartbeats, breathing, bowel activity.

It typically has two sides: a flat diaphragm for higher-frequency sounds and a bell-shaped cup for lower ones.

The chestpiece connects via tubing to earpieces worn by the examiner.
