Chapter headers are the titles or headings that appear at the beginning of chapters in a book or document, typically identifying the chapter number, name, or both.
They serve as navigational markers and often signal thematic content: The chapter headers gave away too much of the plot.
In design contexts, chapter headers may refer to the entire formatted block including decorative elements, typography choices, and spacing that distinguish chapter openings from body text.
