capuchin monkeys
Small hooded primates
A capuchin monkey is a member of the genus Cebus, which in turn is part of the family Cebidae.
Capuchin monkeys are New World monkeys, meaning they are found in South America.
The name is inspired by the resemblance of their facial fur to the cowl worn by Capuchin monks.
Capuchin monkeys are more intelligent than some other monkeys.
They are common in movies and as service animals, in part because they are small and easily trained.
